CLAUDIA MARIAN
USER DRIVEN INNOVATION
Purpose of the course
User Driven Innovation aimed to provide us with knowledge on how to create an innovative concept by involving and taking into consideration the user throughout the entire process of creation.
Content
The theory of the course was based on the Method Handbook and IDEO examples. Realtime Board was the main support in our groupwork in documenting and presenting the entire concept development process by the following stages: Phase 0 - Focus, Phase 1 - Research, Phase 2 - Analysis, Phase 3 - Idea & Concept, Phase 4 - Reality Check, Phase 5 - Prototype and Phase 6 - Test.
Reflection
Throughout the User Driven Innovation courses we worked on developing a new type of restaurant called BREAKY, where people could go and eat breakfast at any time. The necessity for this new concept was outlined by the big number of people that responded to our surveys and interviews and who admited to enjoy eating breakfast at any time in the day, stating that they would want to have this possibility also when going out.
Working on BREAKY during the User Driven Innovation course gave me a lot of insight into how to involve the user into each stage of concept development and which tools, models and theories should be used in order to be able to analyze the business potential, the current trends within the specific industry ( in our case - food industry), how to conduct interviews and focus group and observe the customer patterns, how to create personas and how to make future scenarios including new actions aimed to involve the customer and ehance customer enhagement with BREAKY.
Throughout the BREAKY development process, I succeeded in creating the visual identity of our restaurant including the logo, the mock-up of the restaurant and the BREAKY Menu.
